Even though I walk past, or at least look at, this shopfront at least once a week, it took me years to realise that the name of this restaurant had changed from Dessert House Eatery to D House Cafe. In fact, I didn't discover this until today, much to my embarrassment. I didn't have a chance to peruse the menu too carefully, but from what I could see the menu was still similar to what it was many years ago, which was when I last dined here. Deciding to...

Not feeling that hungry, I picked cold tofu with minced meat sauce. An entrée of Taiwanese popcorn chicken was shared by the table. The tofu was smooth and fresh but I didn't find the sauce to be particularly flavoursome - adding some chilli made it nicer. The crispy yet juicy Taiwanese popcorn chicken was much better. The other alternative was the Vietnamese restaurant near the apartment, but this suited her better. We ordered suan cai yu (the preserved veggie and fish soup with chili and Sichuan peppers, €15) and a braised eggplant dish (€7.90), both...

Came here for a quick dinner before a church event. The restaurant was already pretty full when we arrived at around 6pm. I was tempted by the o chien (oh chien? [oyster omelette]), but the serve looked a bit small for dinner and it also looked drier and more eggy than those I'd normally see in Malaysia. Instead, I got three-cup chicken. The waitress warned me that it wasn't served in broth like it showed in the menu picture, but because I wasn't going to eat much rice...

I returned to try out another of their noodle dishes: Rice Noodles w. Tofu Pudding, Peanut Pieces, Beef Mince, Pickled Chinese Cabbage and Special Chili Sauce ($10). Again, there was a huge serve of the smooth noodles but this time I couldn't finish it. The tofu pudding is apparently similar to that found in tofu fa. It was smooth and softer than regular tofu, but firm enough to pick up with chopsticks relatively easily. There was barely any beef mince. The first thing I tasted was the chilli sauce....
