As well as offering its salmon products for sale and running cooking classes, the Tassal salmon store in Kew also has a small cafe attached. Today we both ordered from the specials board. I had Crispy Skinned Salmon with Steamed Asparagus and Mexican Salsa ($22) and A2 got Salmon Sashimi with Green Mango and Shoots ($17.50). The Aylesbury has recently been transformed into Bomba, a casual tapas bar. Although mum was sorely tempted by the paella on offer, we all ordered the Workers Lunch, which included a choice of tapas, raciones and side dish. I thought Bayte warranted a second visit, so I came with A2 at 12pm so we had the option of both breakfast and lunch items. My Samak Nayeh (raw yellowfin tuna kibbeh, $16) was refreshingly citrusy and accompanied with thin, crispy flatbread and labne. Within the kibbeh was burghal, onions, mint and spices. Had the opportunity to try All Day Burger today. I just had their regular burger with free range beef pattie, cheese, lettuce, tomato and their special mayonnaise ($8). Other options included double meat, veggie burger and a special of the day, which was chorizo-flavoured chicken. French fries were also available. The pattie had some good flavours, though mine wasn't particularly juicy. There was also a low bread to filling ratio so the burger wasn't as moist as it could have been.
