Twenty & Six Espresso, North Melbourne

This morning I had one lecture before a 5 hour break, so I decided to drive in for the morning lecture. Since I had the car I thought it’d be a good opportunity to try Twenty & Six Espresso, which is a bit out of the way to walk or get there via public transport.

Menu

Today I had The Russian: “Vodka & lemon house cured salmon tartare, free range poached egg, dill & lemon creme fraiche, seed & sprout sourdough” ($17.90).

The tartare also contained egg white, capers, french onion and possibly gherkin. I couldn’t really taste the vodka or any alcohol, but then again, I don’t know what it tastes like by itself. Although there was quite a bit of food, it was very light and fresh. The poached egg was cooked perfectly and everything went nicely with the buttered, toasted sourdough.
