There’s no shortage of food on Glenferrie Road, and new eateries are popping up all the time. It only opened last year, but the burgers at The Resistance have been well received by many. To accompany your burgers there are beer battered chips and sweet potato fries, or you might go for something different like the tapioca fries with Peruvian dip. Not into burgers? They have all day pancakes too.

Supremo de Resistance – 150g grass fed beef, Colby cheese, caramelised onion, bacon, pineapple, red onion, lettuce, tomato, Kewpie, Homemade secret burger sauce ($15)

Unable to stay for long, I had to settle for takeaway. My burger of choice was the Supremo de Resistance, a beef burger with Colby cheese, caramelised onion, bacon, pineapple, red onion, lettuce, tomato, Kewpie and secret sauce on toasted brioche. It’s a great burger that’s crispy and moist in all the right places, and the spiced mayo keeps things lively.

Cheese fries – Beer battered fries, cheese, crispy bacon, sour cream, Golf sauce ($10)

Also ordered are the beer battered cheese fries with crispy bacon, sour cream, and Golf sauce. It’s a tasty combination of ingredients, though the fries were oversalted, and those after rivers of cheese might be a bit disappointed.

The Resistance Bar and Cafe offers solid burgers and is conveniently located next to Glenferrie station.
