The Boulevard, Kew

Being a function space as well as a restaurant, The Boulevard has a simple but modern open space next to the wine bar. It’s next to the 9-hole Studley Park Golf Course and has a nice view of the city, or at least whatever is visible above the tree line.

Mum and I ordered two courses each:
Entrees:
– Chorizo, Prawn, Tomato and Basil Risotto
– Prosciutto-Wrapped Scallops, Mushy Peas and Lemon Butter

Mains:
– Crispy Skin Barramundi, King Prawn, Sauteed Spinach and Prawn Bisque
– Slow-braised Beef Cheeks in Red Wine Sauce, White Bean Puree, Caramelised Onions and Crispy Pancetta

The risotto was full-flavoured and they were very generous with the prawns. I particularly enjoyed my scallops, which were cooked perfectly and made better by the saltiness and crunch of the prosciutto.

My beef was soft and tender and the combination of flavours was good. There was quite a lot of meat on my plate. Mum was disappointed that a lot of her barramundi’s crispy skin had become soggy because the prawn had been sitting on top. The fish wasn’t as sweet barramundi can be, but the bisque was very nice.
