Seven Seeds, Carlton

It wasn’t until I returned home that I realised we were ordering off the brunch rather than the lunch menu. No matter; I’m always up for salmon. The whiskey flavour was very subtle and went well with the cream, which had a hint of horseradish. The parsnip crisps created some texture variety and a lighter mouthfeel with each bite. The snow pea tendrils looked pretty but were a bit difficult to arrange into a mouthful, even after cutting. Obviously crostini are meant to be crunchy, but I did find it hard to cut them into bite-sized pieces without making bread fly all over the table, layer all my ingredients on top and scoop with the fork. Overall I found the flavours balanced nicely and I’m keen to return for a taste of the lunch menu.
