Since their launch a year ago, Royal Stacks has done a booming trade, already opening up locations in Brunswick, Chadstone and Sydney. Owner Dani Zeini’s golden burger touch has been seen in other venues such as Dandenong Pavilion, Grand Trailer Park Taverna, Easey’s and Truck Stop Deluxe, which he helped open.

At Royal Stacks they use pasture fed beef with no additives, minced fresh daily for their patties, and bread is also baked fresh every day. The Single Stack is the most basic burger on the menu – a single beef patty is topped with tomato, butter lettuce, American cheddar, special burger sauce and pickles, and wrapped in a soft white bun. The Prince Harry is similar, but includes a horseradish, shallot and gherkin mayo sauce, providing an extra bit of pizzazz that’s delicious with the incredibly moist patty. The Saint gets a nice spicy kick from its chipotle mayo and pickled jalapeno, which are teamed up with double beef patties, bacon and cheddar. Big thumbs up. They’ve also just introduced another non-beef option: a fried chicken long roll under the name of Lady Kluck, coming with curry-like spicy fried chicken, red cabbage slaw and garlic aioli.

To go with the burgers, there are fries and Tater Tots (i.e. potato gems), which can be smothered in cheese sauce if desired.

Royal Stacks - Bistro Morgan Hipworth — Morgan Hipworth

Royal Stacks have teamed up with the doughnut prince, 15 year old Bistro Morgan. His treasures are, at least for the moment, the only place in the CBD where you can get them. They’ve also started serving a new selection of shakes, such as Fruit Loops and Flake, matching perfectly with the doughnuts they’re now stocking. The range of doughnuts from Bistro Morgan may include the likes of the Ferrero Rocher, Oreo, Golden Gaytime and Fruit Loop. They have a light and fluffy texture, and for those that come with one, there’s generous amount of filling contained within the syringe.
