Imasuke, New Town Plaza, Hong Kong

All the restaurants on level 7 had long queues. We took a ticket for Imasuke and waited over an hour, during which we decided what we were going to order. The food arrived quite quickly so we started eating at around 8:15pm and finished by 9pm, which isn’t terribly late. Mum and dad shared a duck nabeyaki udon (70HKD) and a hotpot with oysters in miso soup (148HKD). The oysters were the biggest oysters I’ve seen so far: slightly smaller than golf balls. A2 and I shared a sushi platter (accompanied by chawanmushi and miso soup, 158HKD) and a duck nabe udon + chirashi zushi set (138HKD). We managed to get the set items switched out so we could have the udon and chirashi zushi we wanted. The udon and tofu were made on-site. Although the udon wasn’t as smooth as some of the udon we tried in Japan, it wasn’t too bad. The chirashi zushi was the best dish of the night. It had sesame seeds mixed through the rice and there was a wide range of seafood in it. The piece of sushi I enjoyed the most was the eel nigiri.
