12 Oct Good Nights, Windsor
Good Nights is sister venue to Brunswick’s Vietnamese eatery Good Days. Its menu is designed for sharing, but with the quality of the dishes it’s tempting not to.
Banh Khot are indeed crispy as per the menu description, and served with a refreshing topping of prawns and tobiko. These little morsels are almost too easy to eat. The Moreton Bay Bug Noodles have a great charred flavour throughout both the Bundaberg-sourced bugs and the slippery glass noodles. A spin on Bo Luc Lac, or Shaking Beef, sees wok-tossed kangaroo fillet used instead, as well as crunchy potato chips for a different texture. There’s a selection of pho on the menu too, and for something a bit fancy you can go with the Special Beef Pho with Black Angus topside and brisket, sliced ox tongue and roast bone marrow.
Their short and succinct dessert menu for the night includes Banana Fritters fried in a crisp tempura batter, served with coconut ice cream.
I hear they’re changing the menu shortly, so time to head in quickly for some of these dishes, or revisit soon for the new ones.
