[caption id="attachment_5898" align="aligncenter" width="1000"] Sugar Fougasse from Bergese[/caption] There were many bakeries in St-Remy-De-Provence that were under the Festival des Pains banner. The first thing I bought was a fougasse sucre (€1.80?) from Bergese. It was a bit like donut dough, but a bit lighter. I think fougasse is normally a flat bread, but this one was quite puffy. [caption id="attachment_5896" align="aligncenter" width="1000"] Croute w. Almonds and Pistachios, Sacristain[/caption] Further down rue Carnot we came another bakery/patisserie where mum bought a croque with almonds and pistachios (€2) and a sacristain (€2)....

Tonight we went to L’Epice and Love. The entrées were €9.5, plats €12, entrée + plat was €16.80. Mum and dad both got escargots as their entrée. At first I didn’t want an entrée, but changed my mind later and added on the papeton d’aubergine. Dad and I got the traditional dish of Daube de Toro and mum had the ½ Magret of duck with honey and lemon sauce. [caption id="attachment_5893" align="aligncenter" width="1000"] Escargot[/caption] All the entrées came with salad. The ten escargot were flavoured with butter, garlic and ?parsley. [caption...

Hazelnuts, Pavé Bordelais w. Almond and Orange[/caption] At Eric Sabouret on rue Michel Montaigne, we bought two specialties of Bordeaux: croquette with hazelnuts (€2.20. The other variant was with almonds) and a Pavé Bordelais with almond and orange (€2.70). This place might be the same one where we bought canelés during our previous trip to Bordeaux. We walked into the Carrefour Market building nearby (Marche et Galerie Grands Hommes) to find somewhere to sit...

Le Rince-Doigts was a casual seafood place that was near our apartment. [caption id="attachment_5862" align="aligncenter" width="1000"] Fish Soup, Croutons, Prawns, Bulot[/caption] [caption id="attachment_5864" align="aligncenter" width="1000"] Salmon Tartare, Oysters; Prawns, Bulots, Bigorneaux[/caption] We started with the ‘After Work’, available only from 6-8pm, which was a glass of wine, some prawns and bulots (€5), the ‘Formule A Volonté’, which included fish soup, prawns, mussels, bulots, bigorneaux and salmon tartare (€20) and moules farcies (€5). The seafood was really fresh – given they also run a fish shop, I would hope it is –...

On rue des Augustins, just off from Place Général Sarrail, mum spotted a restaurant called I Bo Bun. At first she thought it was a bao restaurant, but it was actually a Chinese restaurant with some decently priced lunch set menus (less than €9). Mum needed another Asian fix. The other alternative was the Vietnamese restaurant near the apartment, but this suited her better. We ordered suan cai yu (the preserved veggie and fish soup with chili and Sichuan peppers, €15) and a braised eggplant dish (€7.90), both...
