At only 5 months old, Indian fusion restaurant Burger Shurger is making a strong impression. The burger menu has chicken, beef and lamb options, but quite a decent chunk of the menu is vegetarian too. Dishes and sauces in the menu are made using the owner’s recipes – the sort of food she might make at home.

Beef It Up comes with two masala-seasoned beef patties, caramelised onions, lettuce and coriander. The Mighty Butter Chicken is one of Burger Shurger’s signatures and sees fried chicken combined with house-made butter chicken sauce and yoghurt mint chutney slaw. The butter chicken sauce is certainly a tasty one, and not sweet or overly creamy.

Sides are worth looking into. Butter chicken poutine has the same butter chicken gravy found in the burger, the fried Pataka Ribs have a tangy, spicy glaze, and the cauliflower of the Gobhi 65 are fried in chickpea batter and a flavoursome 65 sauce.

There aren’t too many fusion burger restaurants around, making Indian-inspired burgers something special. Burger Shurger is one to visit for a tasty Indian burger experience.
