Bistro Bakini, Melbourne

Compliments of the hotel, we were able to get breakfast to the value of $22 each at Bakini, situated on the ground floor of the Mint Rhapsody apartments.

Bircher Muesli w. Berry Compote

Bircher Muesli w. Berry Compote

Me: Bircher Muesli, decaf long black.

Mum: Bakini Breakfast + extra smoked salmon, cappuccino.

While waiting for our meal to arrive I was able to watch the chefs work in their open kitchen as they cooked breakfast and prepared food (and fresh pasta) for tonight. The bircher muesli tasted of coconut, apple and cinnamon and was topped with a berry compote, mostly strawberries. The Bakini breakfast consisted of two eggs (mum chose poached), bacon, sausage, tomato, mushroom and sourdough toast. Both of them were well executed and a cut above what one would normally find at a restaurant based within a hotel.
