I had a Groupon voucher for Movenpick and the 34C degree day today made it the perfect time to use it. I'd visited previously and loved the hazelnut. I did taste the pistachio, which is another of my favourite flavours of gelato but didn't enjoy it so much. Situated in the basement of historic Harley House on the corner of Collins & Exhibition Streets, La Chinesca is a bar, eatery and art space. Though La Chinesca is a bar, co-owners Vincent Fantauzzo and Robert Hargraves also wanted a strong emphasis on food. Chef Daniel Salcedo has moved on from a Chinese and Mexican menu to a Peruvian one, inspired by recent trip to Peru for the Mistura food festival. Being a Peruvian native, Salcedo has been yearning to bring his native cuisine to Melbourne after previously...

Nestled inconspicuously on leafy corner of Rathdowne St, La Luna Bistro has been serving contemporary Australian cuisine with a Mediterranean influence for over a decade. It could also have been something to do with the heavy rain today. There's a focus on Korean and Japanese (mostly Korean), and obviously on barbequed foods prepared in charcoal and hard-wood pits and ovens. Also offered...
