It may have a Japanese name, but the menu at Tora Eatery encompasses more than just a singular cuisine. You’ll notice other influences including Vietnamese and Thai, and the cocktail list has an Asian twist too. Their Bangkok Martini will awaken the senses with its strong hit of coffee, and it’s a much richer alternative to the refreshing Rind On Rind Off.

Meaty braised beef cigars with yuzu mayo, snow sugar and pistachio are a great snack to get things started, as are the plump Smoked Hock Croquettes, which also seem to have a slightly cheesy flavour to them.

Tora’s Coconut Ceviche features the unusual pairing of Hiramasa Kingfish with grapes; the acidity of the ceviche is actually quite well balanced by the thin slices of the fruit. At first glance, the Chilli Caramel Beef Rib sounds like it might be quite sweet, but thankfully that’s not the case. The accompanying salad and nouc nam dressing bring a nice freshness that offsets the heaviness of the protein.

Tora has recently launched a lunch menu with rice bowls, noodles and salads – the perfect option if you need a quick and tasty feed.
