Under new management since November, Takumi has received a fresh new, brightened interior. Though best known for its Japanese BBQ, other standout dishes include the Beef Tataki with its notable marbling, and the Salmon Carpaccio with wasabi infused yuzu. You can tell the soft and silken fish is of high grade.
We come to the hands-on part of the meal, the barbecue, deciding to work out way up from the leaner cuts to the fattiest, most indulgent ones. Once we got up the premium scotch fillet it simply melts in our mouths, but even the leaner cuts like the eye fillet are incredibly tender.
Takumi serves incredibly high quality meat, and they intend to keep it that way. It’s still transitioning into what the owner’s has envisioned, but even at this stage, Takumi leaves quite the impression. Highly recommended to anyone after a premium Japanese BBQ experience.
