15 May Spudbar, Hawthorn Take 3
It’s the pre-June rush-to-use-up-all-the-Entertainment-Book-vouchers time again.
I created a custom spud using a base of sweet potato and toppings of warm braised pulled lamb shoulder, spinach, quinoa mix, broccoli and pumpkin. The base price of the potato is $4.90, meat toppings are $3 and most others are $1 each. There’s also condiments at the cashier where you can add salt, pepper, chilli flakes and sauces. A new batch of sweet potato had finished cooking right before our order so they were piping hot. The pumpkin was cooked but the broccoli was not, or at least it was still very raw. The lamb was actually quite nice, but the prices of all the toppings were steep considering how little was actually added.
