Shoya, Melbourne CBD

Went out for lunch at Shoya before my cousin left for Sydney. We each chose a different set lunch.

Me: Kaisen Chirashi set ($24.80) – Chirashizushi, Mini Udon, Chilled Bean Curd, Chawanmushi, Dessert

A2: Take set ($35) – Sashimi, Sushi, Tempura, Teriyaki Chicken, Chawanmushi, Mixed Steamed Rice, Miso Soup, Dessert

Mum: Ume set ($32.00) – Sashimi, Seasonal Grilled Fish, Tempura, Teriyaki Wagyu, Chawanmushi, Mixed Steamed Rice, Miso Soup, Dessert

Dad: Matsu set ($38.00) – Sashimi, Sushi, Grilled Eel with Sweet Soy Sauce, Wagyu Steak with Truffle Sauce, Savory Egg Custard, Mixed Steamed Rice, Miso Soup, Dessert

My serve of ‘mini’ udon was larger than expected. I thought it was going to be an asian rice bowl-sized serve. Mum’s tempura was more fancy than the one A2 received; it consisted of crab and scallop in one tempura shell plus a mushroom plus quail egg tempura. The dessert we were all given was green tea ice cream.

Fresh seafood, lovely flavours and generous servings made the Shoya lunch sets an excellent deal.
