15 Sep Pizza Farro, Fitzroy
Pizza Farro has always been one of my favourite pizza places, so it was good news to hear they were opening a second location in Fitzroy, which is closer to home.
The Polenta Chips are an excellent way to start. They’ve got a nice, crisp crumb and are well seasoned. The Neopolitan-style pizza is as good as I remember from their original Thornbury restaurant – puffy edges with a slight chew, and a thin base that is not overloaded with ingredients. Their sweet calzone, usually only filled with Nutella, had the addition of raspberries today, which helped lighten the flavours and textures of the dessert.
It’s a smaller, cosier space than it’s older sibling, but Pizza Farro Fitzroy still delivers a satisfying Italian feed that has plenty of vegan and gluten free options to boot.
