24 Apr Linger Patisserie, Camberwell
It’s been open for 3 years, and it’s a wonder I haven’t heard of Linger Patisserie earlier. Situated in a church, the cafe was opened as a result of the owner’s passion for cakes.
Apart from cakes, there’s regular brunch fare available too. Their Creamy Seafood Pasta comes with grilled or torched shellfish and is relatively light pasta dish. Confit Duck Leg comes with a spaetzle that looks almost like Asian-style eggs, and the duck is easily deboned.
Linger Patisserie’s cakes are all house-made and aren’t overly sweet. We try the Miss Matcha with matcha mousse, strawberry jelly, dark chocolate crisp hazelnut biscuit and matcha sponge, and it’s quite light in texture. Their Bunny cake is almost too cute to eat (and I had to get someone else to take the initial cut), but is also very delicious.
Even if you’re not after savouries, it’s worth popping into Linger for a cake.
