Limerick Arms Hotel, South Melbourne

Limerick Arms is a popular traditional pub with a variety of seating: bistro, bar and outdoors. As well as the regular menu, they had a pasta, salad and pie daily specials available. Similar to other pubs they have various lunch and dinner specials offered during the week. It appeared that most people came here for the chicken parmas, particularly the Mexican parma, and it did look very good. We were warned that there would be a 45 minute wait on the food as it was quite busy. The wait turned out to be more like 1 1/4 hours. I went with the daily salad – a Thai beef salad with Asian-inspired dressing. The salad was dressed with a sweet chilli based sauce and sprinkled with fried shallots. There wasn’t a whole lot of beef in it, though what was there was tender and tasty.

Thanks! There are quite a number of restaurants I’d like to try in South Melbourne. I should really get around to visiting them!
