Layfayette, Nice, France

We walked past a big fountain to go to Lafayette, a department store. At the basement food hall we looked at the ready-to-eat food and planned to split up then meet at the 4th level restaurant. There wasn’t a large choice at the restaurant so we went back down to the food hall. A2 had a salmon and spinach quiche (~€3.70), dad had a scallop pie (~€4.30, it was a scallop in the shell with a few veggies, creamy sauce and a piece of puff pastry baked on top). I had eggplant stuffed with minced lamb and gratin (~€6.30) and another dish with eggplant (~€6.30). All of them except the pie were sold by weight e.g. €23/kg. The eggplant stew thing was a rip off because there was only a small bit and while it was nice, it tasted like something I could make at home with eggplant, capsicum, tomato and a bit of vinegar.
