Laduree, Paris, France

The macarons were 2.5 times more expensive than the ones we had in Lucerne, but they were also bigger and tasted much better. The big macarons were four times the size of the small ones and cost nearly €5. We tried bitter chocolate, orange blossom, blackcurrant and violet, caramel, chocolate, pistachio, lemon, citron, raspberry, coffee, praline, vanilla, fig and date, rose petals and chestnut; we didn’t try liquorice, red fruits or spices and soft fruits. From Lafayette we walked to the Concorde then along a significant section of Champs Elysees. Laduree sold 6 macarons in a really pretty purpleish box for €12 something. We didn’t buy it, but if we did we would have gotten lemon, pistachio, bitter chocolate, spices and soft fruits, raspberry and praline.
