24 Oct Heritage Wall, Camberwell
Newly opened Heritage Camberwell with Middle Eastern influences, and there are a number of gluten and dairy free items too.
Those Middle Eastern flavours and ingredients come out in the Smoked Eggplant, and there’s half an eggplant to enjoy. The dish has hummus, feta, cumin, dukkah, pumpkin puree, pomegranate, cucumber raita and a quinoa, nut and kale tabouli. Grilled, torn bread is used to scoop everything up. It sounds like a whole lot of flavours, but most of them work well together.
Thick slices of Cured Trout are laid over pumpkin and sweet potato mash and nuts, and a fresh mint, dill and fennel salad. The whipped avocado spread doesn’t taste strongly of avocado, but the crumb made from panko and pine nuts is particularly noteworthy.
Heritage Wall has generous serves and plenty options to tickle your fancy.
