There are a number of Korean chicken joints in the city, but GoodOvening has been making quite a name for itself. There are a few tasty flavours to choose from, of which my favourite is the honey soy garlic. It’s a preference that surprised me as I’m not one for super sweet main dishes, but the sweetness of the sauces is not too intense. The fried chicken has perfectly crunchy skin, and the meat retains its juices – even the breast portions. Their roasted chicken is also prepared very well.
An unexpected highlight of the meal are the rice balls, which are rolled in seaweed, but also have some seaweed mixed in with the rice, making for a tasty accompaniment for the mains. The Tofu Kimchi with sesame oil, pork belly and onion is a lighter option that also pleases the tastebuds.
Our visit to GoodOvening was thoroughly satisfying, and we couldn’t fault the dishes we tried. Definitely one of my top picks for Korean fried chicken.
