Christy Tania has opened up an ice cream shop. Within Glacé, her yellow submarine-themed dessert bar, you’ll find refreshing sorbets, delicious ice creams, and of course, ice cream desserts.
A wide variety of ice cream flavours are on offer, from vanilla, pistachio and lemon, to butterscotch, matcha and red bean. Ice cream can be taken home in reusable and recyclable tubs. My personal favourites include the rich 72% Dark Chocolate, and the Pistachio Raspberry – pistachio ice cream with swirls of raspberry sorbet. Iceclairs and ice cream macarons are just some of her playful takes on desserts, which are given an icy twist at Glacé.
From the cake section there are a number of options, including the Banoffee with banana ice cream, vanilla ice cream, salted butterscotch, caramelised walnut and almond sponge, or the vibrant Red Roulade with coconut ice cream, raspberry sorbet, coconut ice cream with coconut grains, and red sponge cake. I’d be keen to return to try one, and some of the many other ice cream delights that Christy has dreamed up.
