Collective Espresso is located just off Bourke Road, next to Camberwell Station. Numerous prints lining the walls and the bag hooks for staff give this cafe a warm, homely and welcoming vibe. There are bars seats along the window and near the kitchen, one small table and a long communal table that could accommodate at least 16 people.

Today I had the emu burger, which came with cabbage remoulade, cheddar, mustard and pickles on a brioche bun. The tasty emu pattie was slightly dry, particularly around the edges, but the cheddar and remoulade made up for it. It was one of the nicer burgers I’ve had recently and I especially liked the fact that it wasn’t too greasy.

Perhaps the only niggle I had with the experience was that the music was a bit too loud, which made conversation difficult at times.
