Bayte, Collingwood Take 2

I thought Bayte warranted a second visit, so I came with A2 at 12pm so we had the option of both breakfast and lunch items.

My Samak Nayeh (raw yellowfin tuna kibbeh, $16) was refreshingly citrusy and accompanied with thin, crispy flatbread and labne. Within the kibbeh was burghal, onions, mint and spices.

A2’s Lahem Meshwi (spiced lamb backstrap and onion, $8.50) was tender and tasty. It came with a dollop of labne, some olive oil and a sprinkle of spice. What was more impressive was the Soubih el Sit (filo pastry cigar with slow braised goat, served with almond paste, $5.50). The braised goat went really well with the nut paste, which had a slightly sweet flavour.
