Today I visited to the Abbotsford Convent Supper Market, which is held on Friday nights during summer months. There were a few stalls open, which included vendors selling candles, jewellery, organic dried fruits and handmade leather notebooks. Lentils As Anything, Kappaya and Convent Bakery were open and busy with patrons. There weren't as many food stalls as I thought there'd be. Got to try another type of mango because they were $1 each at Toscano's. I liked the Honey Gold mangoes better than Calypso. Their texture is similar to Kensington Pride and do seem to have a sweet, honey-like taste....

Visited the Queen Vic Markets today to check prices on quinoa. While searching I saw blackberries, two 125g punnets for $5. I haven't tried fresh blackberries before so I thought I'd give them a go. Can't really describe what they taste like, but the sweet ones have a more intense 'berry taste' than sweet blueberries....

Behold their ugliness! The last time I baked was the last time I baked this shortbread, and the last time I made this shortbread was nearly two years ago. Therein lies the evidence of my enthusiasm for baking. Some of the biscuits look more like overcooked pikelets due to my household's lack of circular cookie cutters.
